Position Overview
Medovent Solutions is seeking an experienced Pro-Fee Surgical Oncology Coder for a full-time contract assignment. This position is expected to last three to six months, with the possibility of an extension.
The coder will be responsible for professional-fee coding of surgical oncology services, including surgical cases and evaluation and management (E/M) level selection. The primary areas of focus will include breast, hepatobiliary, and colon surgeries.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately code professional-fee surgical oncology services.
- Review and code breast, hepatobiliary, and colon surgical cases.
- Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation.
- Determine accurate E/M service levels in accordance with current coding guidelines.
- Use Optum CAC and Cerner to review documentation and complete coding assignments.
- Ensure coding complies with applicable regulatory, payer, and organizational requirements.
- Identify documentation issues and follow established procedures for clarification.
- Maintain required standards for coding accuracy, quality, and productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Current CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT credential.
- Professional-fee surgical coding experience.
- Experience coding surgical cases and assigning E/M levels.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and applicable coding guidelines.
- Experience with surgical oncology coding, particularly breast, hepatobiliary, and colon procedures.
- Familiarity with Optum CAC and Cerner.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
